BLACK BOX is an encounter with the transmission of a sonic object: a single memory archived as emergency recording device—a cassette tape remembering itself as the trauma-cinema of lawn, or the algorithm of a domestic disaster capitalism, 50 years of American cultural economy encoded into 1.5 seconds of ear-worm projected through the defibrillating goop of neoliberal temporal distortion—the DarkNetflix of content experienced inside the cathedral of Space Mountain.

The emergency broadcast of that trauma-cinema is that the memory might be lost. As an act of survival it remembers itself as that archival object: a cassette tape that is both the form of the memory and the memory it contains, preserving itself by replaying over and over, repeating as the pulsating signal of replicating lawn: that all lawns are one lawn—a distress call emanating from black box flight recorder as cassette tape within a cassette tape of a memory inside a memory.

Where I was promised sweet fiction. Where that field was pure construct, throbbing in the blacklight corn.
